Kevin Smith Pays Tribute to Stan Lee in First Day of Shooting for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

The Clerks franchise is what Kevin Smith is best known for, and he's working on a reboot that involves arguably his most famous characters, Jay and Silent Bob. Smith is currently working on the reboot of the movie, and he commemorates the moment with an Easter Egg to the late Stan Lee.

Check out Smith, Jason Mewes, and Jason Lee coming back for the film:

It's always fun to watch Smith come back to his own ‘cinematic universe' since he was doing it before it was such a big deal. In the post, he confirms that we'll be coming back to the mall from Mallrats, and Lee will be reprising his role of Brodie from the film. We don't really know what he does, but it would be fin to see what Brody thinks of comics today, now that they've gone to the mainstream. Maybe Brodie can even reference that time he met Stan Lee in the original Mallrats film—one of Lee's more famous non-MCU cameos.

Apparently, this Jay and Silent Bob reboot will be a follow-up to the 2001 film and will have the duo coming to Hollywood in order to prevent a reboot on the Bluntman and Chronic franchise. Besides Brodie making a return, we expect to have some more cameos from other characters in the "View Askweniverse". Maybe Mark Hamill can also make an appearance as and refer to his cameo in the first film—complete with his Joker voice:

We have yet to get a release date for this Jay and Silent Bob reboot.
