Kevin Smith Explodes with Enthusiasm About Directing a Supergirl Episode, Reveals The Title

Kevin Smith is extremely excited about directing an episode for Supergirl season 2 and has revealed that the title of the episode is "Supergirl Lives", Comic Book Resources reports. The title is undoubtedly a reference to Superman Lives, the attempt at a Superman movie Smith was involved in that become disastrous due to the actions of producer Jon Peters. However, Smith's enthusiasm for the show and its staff makes it likely this episode will fare much better.

In the swear-filled episode of his series Fat Man on Batman, Kevin Smith proclaimed how pumped he is for the upcoming episode. "I f**king love this show," he said of Supergirl. He also revealed that it was Andrew Kriesberg who told him about the episode title. He was so touched by it he said "I'm going to cry talking about this. He continued "That's what they do over at that f**king Berlanti-verse, they make magic. They reach into your fucking heart, they cleave it in twain, they fill it full of fucking stuffing and shit -- marshmallows -- and sew it back up". You can see the video below:

Smith was excited about the possibility of working with Superman, who is set to appear in Season 2. He says "I might get to play with Superman. They've added Superman this year. Do you know how f**king mind-bending this is for me? I was never gonna direct that Superman movie, but I did write it back in the day. To be able to work on a show where it's like, ‘Go direct Superman,' like come on man."

However, he's also excited about Supergirl herself and what she means for young girls. "It's a big boys club, we all know that, superheroes and stuff. But that's not true. There's a lot of girls and women out there that love this, but you've got to give it to them at a young age. With this show, you'll have a whole generation of girls growing up thinking about Supergirl the way I thought about Superman."

Supergirl will premiere October 10th at 8 PM.
