Kevin Feige is easily one of the most accomplished producers in Hollywood and at this rate, there's nothing else for him to prove. After turning the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a massive entertainment juggernaut that has been quite indestructible for over a decade now, the Marvel Studios President has his sights set on helming a project in a galaxy far, far away.

In case you haven't heard yet, Feige is working on a Star Wars film with MCU writer Michael Waldron who's in charge of the screenplay. Key details about the project have remained under wraps since its announcement in 2020 but earlier this year, Waldron teased that the film's script is coming together nicely.

Well, as exciting as that may sound, a new report gives Feige's first Star Wars venture a discouraging update. On The Hot Mic podcast, insider Jeff Sneider cast doubt on the long-awaited project and said that he's not so confident about it entering production, unlike Damon Lindelof and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's film which reportedly begins production next year with a planned 2025 release window.

Sneider didn't really say whether the project has been canned or just put on hold. It would be safe to assume though that it's the latter because Feige is still busy with his MCU duties and with the Multiverse Saga set to culminate sometime in 2026, it's only natural for him to prioritize that before shifting his focus to his other commitments. So yeah, I don't think we're getting his Star Wars film anytime soon.
