Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed the slight title change for the upcoming MCU film Thunderbolts.
A few weeks ago, a behind-the-scenes video featuring Florence Pugh from the set in Atlanta was released confirming that production has finally started and hyped up the fans who are looking forward to the film.
However, fans also noticed a seemingly slight title change to the film as they noticed that an asterisk has been added and it made them wonder whether that is now the official title.

Thunderbolts* is Now the Official Title of the MCU Team-Up Movie
As reported by ComicBook.com, Feige confirmed during Disney's CinemaCon presentation that Thunderbolts* is now the official title of the MCU movie.
He explained that the addition of the asterisk was intentional and fans will be able to find out the explanation behind it once the film has been released.
"Yes, you'll notice the asterisk on Thunderbolts*. That is the official title of Thunderbolts* and we won't talk more about that until after the movie comes out," he said.
While the title change to Thunderbolts* was not too significant, it also poses a bigger question on the true meaning behind the asterisk and whether it suggests that the team's name is going to be changed during the film.
As Feige said, we will only be able to understand the context of the asterisk once we see the film and get a clear idea of what they actually have in store with the team.
For now, fans are coming up with theories and speculations regarding the asterisk and they should be able to get more news and updates in the coming months as the production progresses.
Thunderbolts* is set to arrive in theaters on May 5, 2025.
