Kevin Feige Says There Are Going To Be More LGBTQ Characters In The MCU Soon

There's been a growing call for diversity in Hollywood the past few years, and in its most recent films, Marvel's been busy adding representation to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther was the studio's all-black comic book movie, Thor: Ragnarok featured the bisexual Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson, and the upcoming Captain Marvel is supposed to serve as the franchise's very first female-led superhero film.

Now, as the MCU moves forward, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige promises fans that its growing roster of characters will include superheroes that are open members of the LBGTQ+.

Speaking with The Playlist to help promote the studio's upcoming film, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Feige was asked whether fans would be getting gay, bi, LGBTQ and out characters in the MCU soon.

The Marvel Studio Head Honcho's answer? "Yes."

Trying to avoid giving away too much, Feige didn't answer anything beyond yes when asked whether fans will be getting better representation in the MCU soon. When The publication tried to press the topic further, asking whether or not these characters would be someone that we haven't seen, Feige also gave a quick "both. "

"Both ones you've seen and ones you haven't seen" Feige elaborated.
Though the one that we've seen will most likely be Valkyrie, we're not entirely sure whether or not the character makes it alive after Avengers: Infinity War. There's still no knowing what the character's future is in the MCU. However, if Feige is referring to the comic out of another member of the Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy, then we're definitely in for a treat.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
