Tom Hiddleston On Loki’s Big Scene In Avengers: Infinity War

One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's recurring villains, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) became an easy fan-favorite when he was introduced in Thor, charming fans with his wit and with his charisma.

Knowing that he's come back from the grave before, and Marvel fans just couldn't quite believe that the Asgardian God of Mischief would actually meet his end during the opening sequence of Avengers: Infinity War.

Speaking at a Marvel panel at the ACE Comic Convention in Seattle over the weekend (via Comic Book.com), Hiddleston decided to revisit Loki's final moment, taking time to recall an unexpected reunion while he was working on the dramatic scene on the set of Infinity War.

"It was three days and it was actually interesting," Hiddleston remembered. "Ebony Maw is played by an Irish actor called Tom Vaughan-Lawler who was my mentor at drama school. I'd never worked with him and there we were on set and I was like, ‘Hey Tom, how's it going?' And he was like, ‘Oh, you've been doing this for much longer than I have.' I also thought he was so great in the film. And there was a really nice moment of working with him again."

Hiddleston also remembered how Thanos actor Josh Brolin was having so much fun on set, saying that the Marvel star was "really enjoying the freedom" and that he "loved working with the visual effects department."

However, despite all the camaraderie, Hiddleston and the rest of the cast still felt the weight of Loki's death once the finished filming the sequence.

"The moment itself was really emotional," Hiddleston told fans at the convention. "Like, the Russos came up and they were like, ‘Respect.'"

If Infinity War really does spell the end for Loki, then it's a great end. Not only has Loki been able to redeem himself in the eyes of his brother Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in Avengers: Infinity War, the adopted son of Odin managed to redeem himself in front of all of Asgard as well.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
