Kevin Feige Says The Ant-Man Sequel “A Breath Of Fresh Air” After Avengers: Infinity War

After leaving Marvel fans in a state of shock with Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios offers its fan base a "breath of fresh air" with its upcoming superhero team-up movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Speaking with fans through Marvel's YouTube live stream before the global premiere of the Ant-Man sequel in Los Angeles, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige decided to help give fans some background on Scott Lang's (Paul Rudd) second standalone movie.

Noting the levity in the film, Feige says that Ant-Man and the Wasp is a great follow-up after all the chaos and destruction in Infinity War.

"Our fans went through a lot recently in a movie called Infinity War and the whole notion to have a breath of fresh air, and to have some fun, and to have some, I think, surprising emotion, Scott Lang, and his daughter is amazing."

Though Marvel does have a reputation for its great films, there was some sort of concern that Ant-Man and the Wasp would end up being a fizzler after the excitement of Black Panther and Infinity War. Fans were worried that the Ant-Man sequel wouldn't be enough to close Marvel's 10 year anniversary. Still, after all the excitement and devastation in Infinity War, it's pretty great that Marvel's ending with a lighter note. There ought to be an ebb and flow to these things, especially as we start making our way to Avengers 4 next year.

Ant-Man and the Wasp hits cinemas July 6.
