Besides the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is also Sony's Spider-Man Universe franchise which focuses more on the Spider-Man characters in the Marvel Comics. So far, while they have done little connections to the MCU, it is still mostly functioning as its own universe since it is handled by Sony. However, a new report has suggested that the person behind the MCU has actually some involvement in the development of Sony's franchise.
As reported by The Ankler's Jeff Sneider (via The Direct), besides co-producing the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige also guides and offers notes for Sony's Spider-Man Universe films. He also warned the studio "not to get too ahead of itself" in building a larger universe similar to the Avengers movies.
"And yes, Marvel’s Kevin Feige does weigh in and offer notes on Sony’s Marvel movies that don’t feature Spider-Man," Sneider wrote. "One insider credits Feige for guiding Sony’s approach and warning the studio not to get too ahead of itself in terms of building some larger universe in the vein of the Avengers movies."
Since Marvel Studios and Sony are already working together on the Spider-Man films, it may not be surprising to hear that Feige also consults on their other films given that he is the head of Marvel, familiar with the library of characters that they have, and the person behind the most successful shared universe franchise which is what Sony is trying to do with their Spider-Man films.
However, while it poses some questions on whether Feige was behind some of the divisive decisions that the franchise has made, Sony is not required to implement or use any of the notes that Feige has given and, in the end, they have the final decision on the output of the films. Whatever choices Sony has made for the franchise, we can safely say that Feige doesn't have control over any of them beyond the consultation that he offers.

The next Sony's Spider-Man Universe film on the slate is Kraven the Hunter which is set to be released in theaters on January 13, 2023.
