Kep1er Kim Chae Hyun Hospitalized Ahead of Queendom 2 Finale: What Happened to K-pop Idol?


Kep1er Kim Chae Hyun hit a glitch due to health concerns a week before Queendom 2 reaches its live finale.

A few days before the highly anticipated showdown, Queendom 2 became the most buzzworthy drama of the week after creating the most buzz in news articles, online communities, videos, social media posts, and more.

It beat other programs in the fourth week of May, surpassing How Do You Play?, Be Mbitious, Running Man, and Home Alone.

But the excitement was somewhat wiped out as fans started to get worried about Kim Chae Hyun’s health.

Kep1er Kim Chae Hyun Suffers Health Issues

On Thursday, Kep1er’s agencies Swing Entertainment and Wake One delivered shocking news through the girl group’s fan café.

According to the statement, Kim Chae Hyun would revise her schedule for the Queendom 2 live broadcast due to health concerns. She had been taken to the hospital, as well, although the press release did not reveal her exact status.

“Ahead of the ‘Queendom 2’ finale today, while continuously practicing to show fans the best performance, in conjunction with nerves for the competition, Kep1er’s Chae Hyun experienced sudden poor condition and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” the two companies said. “Out of concern that she will become an inconvenience to her team, Chae Hyun is doing her best to recover because of her own strong will to partake in the final ‘Queendom 2’ performance.”

Swing Entertainment and Wake One disclosed that Kim Chae Hyun would be absent from other activities while they adjust the final performance schedule.

Queendom 2 Winner Revealed

Although the episode is yet to be aired internationally, a news outlet already spoiled the fans and revealed the winner of the female idol competition show.

In the final episode, the scores of the six teams were tallied days after releasing their final songs. Brave Girls (Whistle), Hyolyn (Waka Boom), Kep1er (The Girls), LOONA (Pose), VIVIZ (Red Sun), and Cosmic Girls (AURA) competed to win the crown.

However, LOONA and Cosmic Girls ended up going against each other. The show eventually hailed Cosmic girls as the winner after garnering 81,020 points.

LOONA came second with 77,988 points. VIVIZ (54,419), Hyolyn (48,761), Kep1er (46,976), and Brave Girls (45,896) came after LOONA and Cosmic Girls.
