The iconic Good Burger duo Dex and Ed made their long-awaited comeback via Paramount's sequel much to the delight of fans. However, despite the big hype surrounding the return of Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, fans can't help but criticize Mitchell's makeup in Good Burger 2.
Fans Think Kel Mitchell is Looking 'Too Cakey'
It's not easy coming back to a classic role without earning criticism from fans, but Kel Mitchell made sure he wasn't going to be on the losing end.
Around May this year, the 44-year-old actor received mixed reactions from fans on X (formerly Twitter) after seeing Mitchell sport his Good Burger uniform again.
Some went even as far as to compare him to Jada Pinkett Smith's character, Stony, in the '90s flick, Set It Off because of the braids and 'cakey' makeup Kel Mitchell had on for Good Burger 2.
Mitchell was not one to back down and responded by posting a video of him and his co-star, all the while talking in his iconic Ed voice: "They said I look like Jada Pinkett [Smith], so we're about to set it off."
Meanwhile, the caption of his Instagram post appears to read that he was just in for a fun time with the fans:
“Ed and Dex about to set it off 🤣🤣🤪 y’all get ready this is going to be Epic! shoutout to my sis @jadapinkettsmith #Goodburger2 Y’all just got a glimpse of the inside of the Good Burger Mobile! Cleo let me borrow her whip! 🚗 🍔 thx @queenlatifah Can you say exclusive!!!!”

Good Burger 2 Reunites Iconic Duo on Screen
News about Good Burger 2 happening was confirmed by Mitchell and co-star Kenan Thompson during their appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March.
Then and there, they had confirmed the sequel was officially in the works after two decades of waiting, since the original movie premiered back in 1997.
Even though Sinbad's cameo wasn't as sizeable as the original, there are plenty of other easter eggs for you to look out for in Good Burger 2.
The official synopsis for Good Burger 2 reads:
In Good Burger 2, Dexter Reed is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back. With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet, but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.
