Keanu Reeves Made Johnny Silverhand More 'Relatable and Complex' in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 gained a lot of mainstream exposure when CD Projekt Red revealed that Keanu "I know Kung-Fu" Reeves would be in the game as Johnny Silverhand, a character Cyberpunk 2020 fans are more than familiar with. Reeves is a natural pick for the character since the actor has had a history of playing as rebels, whether they be intense sci-fi films like The Matrix or action-packed movies like John Wick.

Apparently, Reeves is working wonders for the character, since an interview Xbox: The Official Magazine (via Wccftech) did with CD Projekt Red's Story Director, Marcin Blacha, feels that Reeves is making the character more relatable and complex. This is due to the actor's natural charisma and performance, with Blacha comparing it to Charles Dance's performance in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as Emperor Emhyr.

"Similarly, remember Emperor Emhyr in The Witcher 3? When we decided to cast Charles Dance, he just made sense for that role—he had this regal aura to him, also because of who he played in Game Of Thrones back then. I think that history played a role in how Johnny finally turned out. A good actor, and Keanu is a great actor, will always infuse their character with a bit of their own special thing. I think, thanks to Keanu, Johnny is more relatable and complex, but at the same time has not lost any of his original rebelliousness and punch."

We can't wait to see more of Reeves' Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 when it comes out on April 16, 2020. The game is expected to come out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Thanks to the next PlayStation and Xbox having backward-compatibility, fans will be able to enjoy this game on newer systems when they come out.
