Cyberpunk 2077 'Clone' Cyberprank 2069 Game Was Removed From Steam

Cyberprank 2069 (formerly titled Cyberpunk 2069) was available on Steam earlier this month but the game was removed earlier this week for violating Steam's policies. The official description of Cyberprank 2069 from the store reads: "This is a new generation RPG game. True simulation of life in the world of the future. In 2069, people will be enslaved by a race of intelligent computers. Now it is cyberghetto. The main character is a cop from the past. His task is to become the most wealthy resident of the city of the future."

That sounds like an attempt to bribe customers into writing Steam reviews for a chance to win a collector's edition of CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, this is against Steam's policies.

Cyberprank 2069, which was sold for $10 on Steam for a few days, is no longer available but some players who purchased the game are reporting that the executable keeps running even after the game is closed. You can see more images from the game here.

Here's a description of the Cyberpunk 2077 game:

"Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character's cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you."

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020.
