Keanu Reeves Hopes To Become The Next Wolverine

It looks like Hollywood A-lister Keanu Reeves wants to have a try at playing the X-Men franchise's Wolverine.

The John Wick star just recently spoke in an interview with Screen Geek alongside his co-star Alice Eve to talk about their upcoming movie Replicas. During his discussion with the news outlet, Reeves was asked about his previous response to questions regarding the possibility of playing a superhero in a future film. The Hollywood Walk of Famer has had numerous kick-ass roles, but he's never really starred in a comic book movie. According to Reeves, he would have actually wanted to play either Batman or Wolverine.

However, "of the two, I'd love to play Wolverine," the actor clarified.

Wolverine is an interesting choice considering Reeve's lean frame, but physique can be adjusted with the proper training regimen. Right now James Howlett's role in the 21st Century Fox's X-Men franchise is left wide open with original Wolverine star Hugh Jackman out of the game. The actor "retired" from the role after the release of the gritty and gut-wrenching Logan which saw the sacrificial death of the character.

For the past few years, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has been trying to get Jackman to return for a Wolverine-Merc with a Mouth team-up movie, but time and time again the actor's turned him down. Not only have fans been supporting the team-up, but so has Deadpool comic book creator Rob Liefeld. However, despite everyone's insistence, Jackman still refuses to return to his claws.

Do you think Reeves would make a suitable replacement? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
