Keanu Reeves Admits He’s Always Wanted to Play Wolverine

It might be difficult to imagine any other actor playing Wolverine other than Hugh Jackman, but seeing how the Logan star has resigned himself to the idea of hanging up his adamantium claws, Marvel fans have been busy throwing around the names of actors to take his place as Marvel's James Hewlett.

One of the internet's favorite Wolverine fancastings is Keanu Reeves, and it seems like the actor's always wanted to play Logan as well.

Speaking in an interview with Sirius XM to promote his new movie, Bill and Ted Face the Music, Reeves was asked whether he had any dream roles. Surprise, surprise, it turns out that the Matrix star's always been interested in playing the X-Men's adamantium-clawed mutant.

"I always wanted to play Wolverine," the actor admitted during the interview.

Unfortunately, as much as Reeves would want to become Marvel's new Wolvie, the actor thinks that it won't be happening any time soon.

"It's too late. I'm all good with it now," Reeves said. Sure, Reeves might have a lot of experience in action movies – he's been in Matrix, John Wick, Chain Reaction, Point Break, Street Kings – but the actor's already reached 55. He might not look it, but age does take a toll on the body. Reeves may not be ready for the heavy stunts that come with the role of Wolverine.

It's such a shame though because Reeves was always interested in playing Frank Miller's iteration of the hero.
