Following the mysterious cancellation of The Acolyte after just one season, a new report states that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy might soon be exiting the production home of the Star Wars franchise. Here's what the report suggests about her future.

New Report Suggests Kathleen Kennedy’s Time with Lucasfilm May Be Up

As Star Wars fans continue to launch and support their petitions to renew The Acolyte for a second season, a new report from reliable industry insider Jeff Sneider of TheInseider.com seemingly suggests that Kathleen Kennedy's time with the franchise is ending soon.

Kennedy's time as Lucasfilm president led to the development of several Star Wars films, including The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker, Solo, and even the return of Harrison Ford to reprise his role in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

She was also in charge of the release of live-action shows for Star Wars such as all three seasons of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Acolyte, and Willow.

While their future is uncertain, Kennedy's role at Lucasfilm also hangs in a balance. According to Sneider, Kennedy will only remain as Lucasfilm president "until at least Q2 of next year [2025]."

It also remains to be seen whether or not 2025 will be the last we'll see of Kathleen Kennedy's work, considering that Lucasfilm and Disney have yet to make that announcement.

However, it is worth mentioning that this wouldn't be the first time a report claimed that Kennedy's time is up at Lucasfilm.

In fact, last time, her position was at risk after the disappointing performance of Dial of Destiny. Previously, Kennedy also had to defend Ahsoka's viewership numbers amid rumors of being fired at Lucasfilm. But stay tuned for more updates on this unfolding story.
