Kate Middleton celebrated her 41st birthday on Jan. 9, but not much has been reported about her special day. For the second time in the last three years, there are reports that the Princess of Wales’ big day was once again overshadowed by Prince Harry.
Prince Harry’s Memoir Spare Dropped Around Kate Middleton’s 41st Birthday
On Jan. 8, an excerpt from Prince Harry’s memoir Spare was released online. Several of the Duke of Sussex’s accounts centered on Kate Middleton, Prince William, Princess Diana, King Charles, and Meghan Markle.
So, by the time that Middleton turned 41, different online publications were still reporting on Prince Harry’s book and not so much on her birthday.

Is Kate Middleton’s Birthday Jinxed?
According to Mirror UK, Middleton’s birthday is jinxed because, in 2020, Prince Harry and Markle also overshadowed it when they announced their decision to quit The Firm one day earlier.
And in 2021, Middleton was forced to cancel her birthday plans after a lockdown was imposed in the United Kingdom due to the rising COVID-19 cases.
Last year, fears over the spread of the Omicron variant heightened around Middleton’s birthday. So, it’s unclear how she celebrated it when she turned 40.
Royal Family Maintained Its Focus On Kate Middleton On Her Birthday Instead Of Prince Harry’s Memoir?
But despite Prince Harry’s indirect attempts to overshadow his sister-in-law’s birthday, Fox News pointed out that the royal family still tried their best to put their focus on Middleton.
Instead of responding to Prince Harry’s allegations, the royal family uploaded stunning photos of Prince William’s wife on their social media accounts.
“Wishing the Princess of Wales a very Happy Birthday today!” the palace tweeted alongside a photo of the mom of three.
In the book Kate: The Future Queen, royal author Katie Nicholl praised Middleton for not causing any embarrassment to the royal family. Even though she was a commoner, she immediately tried to learn the royal ropes when she married Prince William.
“This is the woman who was the commoner who married into the royal family and who has not tripped up, not caused any embarrassment. It’s not been an easy year, and yet somehow Kate seems to be a bit of a beacon in all of this,” she said (via the Associated Press).
Prior to her engagement to Prince William, Middleton was also attacked by the British tabloids. She was dubbed as “Waity Katie” because she waited for the Prince of Wales to pop the question for many years.
But just like Queen Elizabeth and Queen Consort Camilla, Middleton reportedly managed to avoid criticisms by employing the royal family’s motto of “never complain, never explain.”
So, regardless of what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say about her, it’s unlikely for Middleton to respond.
