Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle allegedly had a feud in the run-up of the latter's royal wedding in 2018. However, there are different versions of the story, and Prince William's wife hasn't said any statement about it. However, she was reportedly mortified that her sister-in-law discussed the issue in her interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.
Kate Middleton Reportedly Mortified When Meghan Markle Talked About Rumored Rift In Oprah Winfrey Interview
Royal expert Katie Nicholl weighed in on Meghan Markle's claim about the rift between her and Kate Middleton over bridesmaids' dresses in her royal wedding to Prince Harry. According to the Vanity Fair royal editor and author, the Duchess of Cambridge had a "very hard few days" but still turned up to her commitments.
"People did notice that she appeared downcast and subdued. Behind closed doors she has been saddened, disappointed and hurt," Nicholl told OK! magazine about Middleton.
"From what I hear, there are different versions of the bridesmaid story, not just the one Meghan discussed. Kate felt it was all sorted, so to have it brought up again was mortifying. Kate is not in a position to respond and Meghan and Harry know that" the author of Kate: The Future Queen added.
Nicholl added that the future queen consort "never wanted any suggestion of a rift with Markle to come out in the press." Thus, it was hard for her that the news about them was making rounds in the press
The royal biographer said Prince William's wife is "discreet and respects her personal life." She also doesn't have any falling out with anyone because she treats others carefully.
"Kate and William both feel they were hugely welcoming to Meghan and Harry. Any accusations against the monarchy are accusations against their family. It’s hurtful and they feel let down. Obviously, they still love Harry and Meghan, but this interview has ruffled feathers," Nicholl added.
Kate Middleton Redeemed In Tom Bower's New Book That Rectified Meghan Markle's Claims
Months after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, there were reports that the former actress made Kate Middleton cry. The Duchess of Sussex was asked about the issue during her interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, and she denied the allegations.
According to Prince Harry's wife, the report was not true because "the reverse happened", suggesting that it was Middleton who made her cry.

Following the interview, several netizens wanted to hear Middleton's side. However, the royals follow the mantra "never complain, never explain."
British author and investigative journalist Tom Bower recently dropped a new book titled Revenge. He mentioned that Markle indeed made Middleton cry, and it was because she unfairly compared Princess Charlotte to her best friend Jessica Mulroney's daughter. Prince William was reportedly "grateful" about the book rectifying Markle's allegation against his wife.

"Prince William is truly grateful, according to a very good source, that the rectification of this story has now come to light," royal commentator Niel Sean claimed on his YouTube channel. "[The members of the royal family] always knew the true version of events, but the British monarchy [doesn't] come out and explain or complain."
