The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed a new title from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, according to Express. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle generated more than 2.4 million Instagram hashtags in 2021 despite their lack of social media presence. They beat Prince William and Kate Middleton, who only had 2.2 million. So, the Cambridges only came next to Harry and Meghan.
Queen Elizabeth and her late husband, Prince Philip, came on the third spot with 1.4 million hashtags. Meanwhile, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana generated 1.2 million hashtags. The Prince of Wales and his new wife, Duchess Camilla, generated 362, 640 hashtags and trail behind in fifth place.
Prince Harry and Markle reportedly racked up almost seven times the average figure for all the royal couple. The staggering number of hashtags also gave the Sussexes the tile of "most photogenic royal couple" snatching the crown away from Prince William and Middleton.

However, the Duchess of Cambridge was awarded the title of the most Instagrammable royal woman by new research. Photography experts Printique said the future queen generated 1.3 million hashtags on her own.

A spokesperson for Printique weighed in on the results. According to them, the study showcased the royals' influence as a duo.
"Royal couples are a source of fascination all over the world, and this data shows just how much online influence they can command," the spokesperson said. "Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are an absolute global sensation, from their charity work and commitment to making the world a better place, to their fashion sense and style. The fact that this Royal duo pulls in the most Instagram hashtags combined is a testimony to their powerful influence all around the world."
Prince Harry and Markle accumulated over 10 million followers on Instagram joint account @SussexRoyal. However, they stopped using the account when they stepped down from their royal duties.
Prince Harry and Markle have not created a new account yet and vowed to never return unless there are changes on how social media are being used because many utilized it to spread hate and fake news. The Duchess of Sussex suffered too much hate from his critics online.
