Kate Middleton reportedly felt betrayed by what her brother-in-law Prince Harry did to her following the release of Harry & Meghan. Apparently, Prince William's wife didn't expect whatever she learned about her, as shown in the Sussexes' Netflix documentary.

Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were very close before Meghan Markle joined the picture. The three royals were almost inseparable that they were dubbed the "royal trio." Prince Harry was also called the Cambridge's third wheel.

Things changed after Prince Harry tied the knot with Markle, and they decided to have a separate household from the Prince and Princess of Wales.

This month, Netflix dropped Harry & Meghan, where the Sussexes spoke about their relationship and falling out with the members of the royal family. An unnamed insider told Us Weekly that Prince Harry is not on good terms with his sister-in-law, Middleton.

"Kate feels hurt and betrayed that Harry would do this to her too, especially as the pair used to be so close," an insider told the outlet.

As for Prince William, he reportedly has no plans to fire back at the Sussexes publicly. Instead, the heir to the throne decided to focus on his duties.

"William isn't planning to give his side of the story or openly retaliate. He's remaining dignified and is getting on with the job," the insider continued.

What Did Harry And Meghan Say About Kate Middleton?

In one episode of Harry & Meghan, Prince Harry mentioned that the men in the royal family feel "an urge to marry someone who fits the mold, as opposed to someone who perhaps you may be destined to be with." However, he claimed he wasn't traditional and followed his "heart" in finding his wife.

English comedian, writer and host Mark Dolan commented on Prince Harry's statement suggesting it was a dig at Prince William and Kate Middleton.

"In this latest documentary series, [Harry] made a sly dig at his brother William by implying that his wife Kate fits some kind of mold, that she ticks boxes or something. God knows what he was actually saying, but he may have a point," Dolan said.

"If Kate is in a mold, she's in a mold of a nice wife who gets on with her husband's family. Is that too much to ask? We've all got to make it work with the in-laws, don't we? It's not always easy," he explained.

"It's my view that Kate is in the mold of a dignified woman, who is humbly fulfilling her role as wife, mother and Princess of Wales, representing her family and serving the nation."

He went on and added that Prince Harry "seems to go for partners who indeed do not fit the mold."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also raised eyebrows because the first trailer of their docuseries included a snap of Middleton looking "harsh." Prince Harry's biographer Angela Levin claimed that they used such a photo due to their "pure jealousy" toward the future queen consort.

Prince Harry also claimed they were treated differently compared to Prince William and Middleton.

"They were happy to lie to protect my brother," Harry said. "They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us."

Meanwhile, Markle recounted her first meeting with Prince William and Middleton. According to her, she was in "ripped jeans and barefoot" when she greeted Prince William and Middleton, who came over for dinner. However, she implied that they were not a hugger, unlike her.

"Like I was a hugger, always been a hugger," Markle said. "I didn't realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits."

"I guess I'd start to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside, carried through on the inside. There is a forward-facing way of being and then you close the door and you relax now. But that formality carries over on both sides. And that was surprising to me."

Kate Middleton's Friend Defended Her From Meghan's Statement

A friend of the Duchess of Cambridge was quick to defend her from what Markle's said. The anonymous pal told People that in contrast to what Markle said, the royal mom usually greets everyone with a "big hug and kiss."

The insider shared the statement after Markle said she was surprised by the Waleses' formality during their first encounter.

"Kate's a big hugger," Middleton's friend said. "She is warm and friendly and greets everyone with a big hug and kiss. It comes naturally to her to be like that."

The outlet included photos of Middleton greeting his cousin-in-law Zara Tindall and father-in-law King Charles with a hug and a kiss.
