Karl Urban Reacts To Brent Spiner Threat To Leave Star Trek

People are still reeling from the recent announcement that Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth are leaving Star Trek 4. Interestingly, Star Trek alum Brent Spiner has threatened to do the same thing and Karl Urban reacted to Spiner's alleged exit.

It was recently revealed that Pine and Hemsworth have decided to abandon the fourth Star Trek film after failed negotiations with Paramount. Although fans were undoubtedly devastated, Spiner found some humor in the news and tweeted an enthusiastic "Me, too!"

Urban immediately picked up on the joke and responded to Spiner's threat. The former Lord of the Rings star took the tweet literally and chastened the Star Trek: The New Generation actor for trying to keep up with Pine and Hemsworth.

Spiner refused to give Urban the upper hand and replied, "They can find me in Antarctica."

Urban is one of the actors who might still be negotiating with Paramount on Star Trek 4. The studio could also be working on a deal with Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg and John Cho.

Spiner portrayed Lt. Commander Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation from 1987 to 1994. He has recently been cast as Vice President Baker in Supergirl Season 4.

It is still unclear if Paramount is planning to renegotiate with Pine and Hemsworth on a better deal for Star Trek 4. After all, James Kirk and his father George are important characters in the rumored storyline. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that the Kirks will be recast in the sequel or a new storyline will be ordered.
