Kaley Cuoco has been married and divorced twice – first with Ryan Sweeting and most recently with, equestrian, Karl Cook. The Big Bang Theory alum was married to her first ex-husband for three years, and her marriage to Cook also ended after three years.
Months after she announced her divorce from Cook, Kaley Cuoco sat down for a candid interview about the darkness that she experienced while her marriage was falling apart. The fall out of Cuoco and Cook’s marriage happened while she was filming Flight Attendant Season 2.
Kaley Cuoco Suffered From Depression Amid Her Divorce From Karl Cook
While speaking with Variety, Cuoco admitted that she suffered from depression and decided to stage an intervention to span out of the darkness that she was going through.
“I’ve been very open about it because I think for the first time, I wanted people to know that things just aren’t always what they seem. And things aren’t always so perfect. It was interesting to say that out loud. And to have everyone be like, ‘Yes, we want to help!’ I’m a working woman, and so independent, and I really take pride in being able to do everything. Well, this time, I literally couldn’t,” she said.
Cuoco said that her divorce from Cook affected her negatively to the point that she threw herself into her work so that she wouldn’t have to deal with her personal life. However, this just made things worse.
“Going through my divorce, it was really a super dark time. I just didn’t know how to deal with it. I was throwing myself into work to deny my depression, and how upset I was. Unfortunately, the character was so depressed that it wasn’t helping me! I was really, really, really struggling. A lot of tears,” Cuoco said.

Kaley Cuoco Went To Therapy For The First Time While Filming Flight Attendant Season 2
And it was also while she was filming Flight Attendant Season 2 that Cuoco decided to go to therapy for the first time.
“I started at the beginning of season 2, just because I was going through so much right before we started shooting. It was horrible. And I developed a stress rash that ran all the way down my body for three straight months that wouldn’t go away. I literally, like, had a fire on my leg for three months. I could barely walk,” she said.
Kaley Cuoco Moved In With Her Flight Attendant Co-Star Zosia Mamet
Thankfully, Cuoco had her co-star, Zosia Mamet, to lean on during that time. The actress moved in with Mamet, and it helped her to have someone there by her side.
“I was really losing my mind. And then so many of these scenes were so hard to do because they were so hateful, so sad, and so dark, and there wasn’t a lot of levity. Like, it was the loneliest I’ve ever felt, and I am not really someone to share that,” she said.
Cuoco never revealed why exactly she and Cook decided to divorce. But their announcement came as a shock to fans who thought that their relationship was for keeps. After all, the actress previously revealed that she and Cook had a shared love and passion for horses and dogs.
