Kaldheim Reveals New Magic: The Gathering Legendary Wolf Card

Although we have to wait until January 7 for the previews for the upcoming Norse mythology-inspired Magic: The Gathering set, Kaldheim, to fully kick off, Wizards of the Coast and heavy metal bands have already hyped us up this week with a sneak peek of the expansion's Viking-inspired art, new cards, and the official teaser.

Today, another card from Kaldheim has been revealed, and it's the Showcase version of Sarulf, Realm Eater.

The 3/3 black and green legendary wolf gets a +1+1 counter whenever a permanent an opponent controls is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, and at the beginning of your upkeep, if Sarulf has one or more +1+1 counters on it, you may remove all of them. If you do, exile each other nonland permanent with converted mana cost less than or equal to the number of counters removed this way.

For three mana, this is a pretty good card, but it might be tough for a Golgari build since this color combination usually want to play a lot of permanents.

Kaldheim is set to release on February 5, 2021 for tabletop, and Jan. 28 on Magic Arena and Magic Online. Check out where to find all the Kaldheim previews here.
