Junji Ito is best known for his haunting stories and arriving on Netflix next year will be an anime adaptation of his horror collection, Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre. During Netflix TUDUM, four new images and additional cast members are revealed.

For decades, Junji Ito has been writing stories that will haunt everyone's dreams and send chills down one's spine. With Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre arriving on Netflix, get ready for a horror anime series that will keep you up at night.

Four new stills out of the 20 stories in Junji Ito's Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre have been released during Netflix TUDUM along with new cast members for the anime series.

New cast members include Riho Sugiyama as Kazuko Morinaka and Daisuke Kishio as Shinya Shiraishi for The Hanging Balloons where they will be joining Iori Nomizu as Kagumi Fujino. There is also Hiro Shimono who will voice Oshikiri in Intruder.

Rie Suegara will voice Tomie and Yumiri Hanamori will be Tsukiko Izumisawa who will both be joining Taku Yashiro as Yamazaki, Tomokazu Sugita as Tachi, and Hiroyuki Yoshino as Kimata in Tomie: Photo.

For The Room with 4 Walls, Yuji Mitsuya as Sōichi is announced and he will be with Yoshimasa Hosoya as Kōichi, Yuka Saitō as Sayuri, and Yutaka Aoyama as Tagaisu.

Other cast members for other stories who are previously introduced are Hisako Kanemoto as Sayoko for Unendurable Labyrinth, Yōko Hikasa as Chiemi for The Long Hair in the Attic, and Natsumi Takamori as Kuriko for Bullied.

The Strange Hikizuri Siblings: The Séance has the most number of cast members with Takahiro Sakurai as Kazuya Hikizuri, Romi Park as Kiko, Hajime Iijima as Shigorō, Risa Shimizu as Narumi, Ayaka Asai as Hitoshi, and Tomoko Kaneda as Misako.

Junji Ito's Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre will also include Where the Sandman Lives. The 20 stories will be from the Itō Junji Kesssaku-shū (Junji Ito Masterworks Collection) manga collection.

Junji Ito's Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre will debut on Netflix on January 19, 2023.
