While the Gojo and Toji rematch was undoubtedly the highlight of the latest Jujutsu Kaisen episode, it first picked up in the aftermath of Episode 3 where Toji mercilessly shot Riko Amanai, the Star Plasma Vessel.

Enraged by Riko and Gojo’s presumed death, Suguru Geto quickly goes on the offensive against Toji with the cursed spirits under his control. Though despite the flurry of attacks, Toji is able to dodge them with ease.

During the fight, Toji explains how he was able to hide his cursed spirit. And while Geto tries to absorb the spirit, he fails and Toji defeats him.

After defeating Geto and leaving him close to death, Toji delivers Riko’s body to the Time Vessel Association. But before he leaves, Toji is suddenly attacked by Gojo who is revealed to have survived the attack.

Soon, the two face off once again, but instead of Toji wiping the floor with his opponent, Gojo has learned from their previous fight and has unlocked a powerful new ability.

During their first match, Gojo’s use of Limitless was still rather limited given how much cursed energy it needed.

Following the fight, Gojo has finally learned how to use reverse cursed technique to use Limitless for longer.

Gojo is also able to use reverse cursed technique to heal himself, as well as unlock even more abilities with his Limitless. With this newfound power, Gojo is able to handily defeat Toji.

It’s fair to say that this rematch was well-animated as it featured lots of creative animated scenes and striking colors.

Because of this, fans showered it with praise, though many also highlighted how cool Gojo going feral is.

With this, the Hidden Inventory arc is coming to a close, but we’ll first get an episode adapting the Premature Death chapters before we get to the second season’s main event – the Shibuya Incident.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 5 will be released next week. But after that, the anime will go on a weeks-long hiatus.
