After weeks with no content, Jujutsu Kaisen fans have been treated recently. Aside from the new Shibuya Incident anime trailer, the upcoming mobile game Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade also got a new visual that highlights its original characters.

This upcoming game was announced way back in 2021, and instead of being a straight adaptation of the manga and anime, it will feature original characters in some new scenarios.

It may not be a triple-A PC or console release, but this game is still highly anticipated by many fans as it will be the first main Jujutsu Kaisen game.

Jujutsu Kaisen is easily one of the biggest ongoing Shonen Jump series. Not only is the manga a bestseller but the anime adaptation by MAPPA is also arguably the biggest of the season in terms of discussions online.

Despite its popularity, Jujutsu Kaisen has yet to get a proper video game release.

This is a bit unexpected given how other big Jump titles like My Hero Academia and One-Punch Man have gotten game adaptations.

On the flip side, fans have been treated to a range of game collabs, including the most recent one which is a Fortnite crossover.

Later this year, fans will finally be treated to Phantom Parade, the Jujutsu Kaisen mobile game that will be released on Android and iOS devices.

This game will feature a turn-based combat system for its gameplay. As for its story, Phantom Parade will follow the story of the anime’s first season, but with additional scenarios featuring brand-new characters.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade Visual Features Original Characters

During a recent livestream, the anime’s three main voice cast members appeared to showcase gameplay details and new information about the game.

Among these is a visual featuring fan-favorite characters on the left, as well as the three original game characters on the right.

The new characters and their VAs are:

  • Rina Saito (Mikoto Misaka in A Certain Scientific Railgun) as Saki Rindo
  • Rikiya Koyama (Kiritsugu Emiya in Fate/Zero) as Kensuke Nagino
  • Koutaro Nishiyama (Kouji Tatsuishi in My Happy Marriage) as Kaito Yuki

According to a report by Oricon, these new characters hail from the Fukuoka branch.

This is reminiscent of the USJ x Jujutsu Kaisen collab which also had an original story where an Osaka Jujutsu High branch was under construction.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade is set to release on iOS and Android later this year, though there’s currently no word on a release date or international launch plans.
