Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade Game Opening Movie Released, New Characters Revealed


Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade is almost here and the MAPPA-produced opening movie for the mobile game has just been released. In addition to that, new information about the game confirms that fans will meet three new characters from another branch of the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School!

The opening movie features all the main characters of Gege Akutami's work. We see Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki before their fellow students Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda are shown. We also get a glimpse at supporting characters like Mai Zenin and Yoshinobu Gakuganji as well as antagonists Mahito and Suguru Geto. Of course, the movie isn't complete without an awesome glimpse at Satoru Gojo.

Interestingly, the opening movie also features brief glimpses at two new characters. The Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade Twitter account confirmed that there are actually three new characters who will appear in the game.

The new characters are from the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School's Fukuoka branch school. The first-year students are Saki Rindo and Kaito Yuki. The characters will be voiced by Rina Satou and Kotaro Nishiyama, respectively. The third character is the branch school's president Kensuke Nagino, who will be played by Rikiya Koyama.

Fans are loving the Phantom Parade opening movie and it has already spawned some memes of its own. People are also loving the game's theme song Avant by Eve, which has just been released on streaming services. Eve had previously performed the anime's opening theme Kaikai Kitan from the first cour of the first season.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade is being developed by Sumzap and will be available on iOS/Android later this year. In the meantime, the franchise is also set for more major releases in 2022. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will finally get its theatrical release in North America and the anime is confirmed for a second season in Winter 2023.
