Junichi Suwabe is a veteran voice actor whom many anime fans know and love thanks to his wide range of iconic roles.

For starters, he is the voice of Yami Sukehiro in Black Clover. He also plays the role of Archer in Fate/stay night, Shota Aizawa in My Hero Academia, and Leone Abbacchio in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, among others.

Suwabe’s distinct, deep voice makes him a memorable presence in shows he has a role in. Thus, many fans believe he’s the perfect voice for Sukuna.

Even though Suwabe is a veteran VA, he revealed that he still became quite nervous about voicing Sukuna.

He shared that he found the audition process difficult as he didn’t have a clear idea of how Sukuna sounded in his head while reading the manga.

While he eventually got the role, Suwabe said that he was nervous up until the anime’s first season aired as he was worried about how fans of the manga would react to his performance.

It’s fair to say that Suwabe was excellent as Sukuna in the first season, and he continues to deliver in the Shibuya Incident arc.

But even now, Suwabe said that he still finds Sukuna a difficult character to voice. This is because of how mysterious the King of Curses continues to be.

Suwabe explained that when voicing characters, he likes to fully understand them based on the source material. This is nigh impossible as Sukuna continues to be an enigmatic force in the manga.

Despite this, Suwabe continues to play the role well, enough that many fans are excited for more Sukuna action.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will continue with Episode 17, that is unless the anime goes on hiatus due to some reported production issues.
