The premise of Jujutsu Kaisen might be far from cute but that doesn't mean the franchise can't release some adorable merchandise. It has just been announced that Jujutsu Kaisen will collaborate with kawaii company Sanrio later this year. In addition to that, the first tease at the new design is absolute cuteness overload!
The official Jujutsu Kaisen website revealed the new design for the upcoming collaboration. The new design features 11 pairs featuring a character from the manga and a Sanrio character. For instance, Satoru Gojo is paired up with Cinnamoroll while Yuji Itadori partners up with Pochacco. Check it out below.
These are some of the cutest designs ever made and we are seeing some unexpected yet adorable pairings here. Who would have thought that Ryomen Sukuna would look so nice with Hello Kitty? On the other hand, Mahito looks quite at home hanging out with the Little Twin Stars. (My personal favorite is, naturally, Kento Nanami and Pompompurin). Needless to say, my reaction to this design was just like Gojo.
The announcement also confirms that the Jujutsu Kaisen x Sanrio design will get their own collaboration goods. Pre-orders will be available in April while the merchandise will be sold in June. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
In the meantime, the franchise is getting ready for global domination. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has already been released internationally in some territories and is set to premiere in North America this Friday. In addition to that, the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 release date could be announced later this month.
Although the anime is moving forward, the manga recently experienced a minor delay. Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178 was supposed to be released this week but is being pushed back due to Gege Akutami's poor health condition. Nevertheless, the manga's next chapter will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #16 on March 19, 2022.
