Jujutsu Kaisen’s next season was announced shortly after the Season 2 finale aired. The upcoming third season was revealed with an announcement video shared on the anime’s official pages.
As expected, this news helped the show become another trending topic, but that’s not the only Jujutsu Kaisen-related development that fans got excited about.

The Shibuya Incident Ends With a Returning Fan Favorite
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 covered the Shibuya Incident, and it ended with major developments for the show’s world. Also shown at the end was the return of a fan favorite from the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie.
Yes, the second season’s final episode finally featured the anime series debut of Yuta Okkotsu. His appearance may be short, but it was a memorable one as it showed him menacingly saying that he would kill Yuji Itadori.
That’s because Yuji’s execution has been reinstated following the events of the Shibuya Incident.
With the Special Grade Yuta Okkotsu being his executioner, it will be interesting to see how the two will fare against one another.
Manga readers should already know what will happen next, but for anime-only fans, it might take some time before they see Yuta and Yuji meet in its full animated glory.

Jujutsu Kaisen Anime’s Culling Game Arc Is Officially in the Works
Given how much the show has dominated anime discussions throughout the second half of 2023, it’s no surprise that Jujutsu Kaisen was quickly renewed for another season.
The Season 3 announcement video did not reveal much about the upcoming series installment. It only confirmed that the season will cover the Culling Game arc, which is filled with tons of action.
What is confirmed is that the next season will also be animated by MAPPA, though it’ll be interesting to see if the staff from Season 2 will return.
After all, the second season featured a new director, which was a big reason for the shift in the anime’s visual and animation style.
As for its release date, chances are that we’ll have to wait some time before it gets released. Based on the gap between Seasons 1 and 2, we may have to wait until late 2025 to early 2026.
Fingers are crossed that the wait won’t be that long though, especially given how big the hype for the series is right now.
