There is little doubt that Japanese audiences loved Jujutsu Kaisen 0 so much that the prequel film was one of the biggest hits in the country last year. But when will international fans get the chance to enjoy the animated movie in theaters? Luckily, the US and Canadian release date for the TOHO Animation flick has finally been announced and it's coming a lot sooner than expected!
Crunchyroll is officially bringing Jujutsu Kaisen 0 to theaters in US and Canada in March. The anime adaptation of Gege Akutami's prequel manga will be screened in over 1,500 cinemas across North America. In addition to that, it was confirmed that the movie will be available in original Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English.
This is truly exciting news for Jujutsu Kaisen fans who have been waiting for the film to be released internationally. For now, the US and Canada release dates were the only ones confirmed. However, there is little doubt that the film will soon be reaching cinemas around the globe.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is based on the prequel manga originally titled Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School. It is a prequel to the main series, which was turned into an anime in 2020.
The film follows Yuta Okkotsu, a high school student who is being haunted by his childhood friend Rika. The girl has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. That is until Yuta encounters Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High who shows young exorcists how to fight against Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll at the school but will Yuta be strong enough to go up against Rika?
Tickets for Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be on sale on February 25, 2022. The film then hits theaters in the US and Canada on March 18, 2022.
