There is little doubt that international fans are loving Jujutsu Kaisen 0 now that the movie has finally been released around the globe. So it's no surprise that the prequel film is doing well at the domestic box office and appears to have reached a major milestone. The movie has just been confirmed to be the 4th highest-grossing anime film in the US!

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was first released in Japan last December where it dominated the holiday box office. Although fans were hoping that the movie will be released internationally in the same month, they had to wait another three months before seeing the film in theaters.

Amazingly, the fan excitement for Jujutsu Kaisen 0 hasn't slowed down just yet. Crunchyroll confirms that the movie is now the 4th highest-grossing anime film in the United States, an awesome feat considering that most of the top spots are taken by two Pokemon, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and the wildly successful Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train!

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is currently in its fourth week of screening in US theaters and has a cumulative total of US$29,693,448 as of last weekend. The anime flick has placed 5th at the weekend box office after earning $1,970,000 and reportedly had a per-theater average of US$951 over the weekend.

The prequel movie isn't the only JJK project that is enjoying success this week. It was previously confirmed that the manga placed second behind One Piece on the Oricon Weekly Chart by Series, selling 204,338 from March 28 to April 3, 2022.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is based on Gege Akutami's manga of the same name that serves as a prequel to the main manga. The movie adaptation is currently screening in theaters worldwide and is expected to be released in more countries soon.
