Josh Brolin Hopes Thanos Survives Avengers 4, Is Open to Eternals Appearance

It's fair to say that Josh Brolin's portrayal of Thanos has left a huge impact on the MCU, with his Avengers: Infinity War performance making audiences relate and hate him simultaneously. With the character getting his way in the end, he will surely get his comeuppance in Avengers 4 but will the Mad Titan survive?

During an interview with Screen Rant, Brolin revealed that he hopes Thanos makes it out of the fourth Avengers film alive and would be willing to star in The Eternals.

The interviewer brought up how Thanos is technically an Eternal and was going to ask Brolin if the Mad Titan would make an appearance but the actor revealed that he did not know about that character fact. If anything, it made him more hopeful for the character's return in the MCU after whatever happens in Avengers 4.

Screen Rant: Are there any plans post Avengers 4? We know that Marvel is developing the Eternals, which Thanos is...
Josh Brolin:I didn't know that.
Screen Rant:Yeah.
Josh Brolin:Oh good. Does that mean I'll be in it?
Screen Rant:I'm hoping. That's my hope at least.

Brolin then brought up how he has never really been involved with a long-running set of sequels like the MCU and is hoping to do more. Some might argue that he was in Men in Black 3 but keep in mind that he did not appear in the two films that predated it. Then again, he is also going to be in the Sicario sequel but that probably has a shelf life.

Yeah, you know what, I don't know what the future brings and who knows, but [I] love the idea of something infinite like this. I've never been involved in sequels. The fact that we've done some of Avengers 2, oh sorry, Avengers 4 but Infinity War 2, I'm going back. I'm going to do more, and we're going to do some reshoots and all that. So, I'm excited about all that. I love the Russos. I love working on the Avengers. I didn't think I was going to and I actually loved it. I didn't even like it. I loved it. I like playing that character. It's a Brando-esqe, Apocalyptic Now character and it's fun, but you know, I don't know. I don't know what the future holds. I've been surprised my entire career so we'll see.

Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
