Joo Won is reaping the rewards for his hard work as Carter lands Netflix’s top 10 movies worldwide.
In a report cited by Flix Patrol, a streaming data aggregator platform, the action-packed K-drama is among the currently most watched films on the streaming platform.
Joo Won’s New Movie Ranked First Place in 18 Countries
Based on the August 7 chart, Joo Won’s new movie is in second place, next to the real-life story film Purple Hearts.
After making its official debut on August 5, Carter ranked first in 18 countries including the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Peru, South Korea, Vietnam, and more.
As for its ratings in online databases for movies and series, the Netflix series scores 5.2 ratings IMDb while Carter got 43 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Joo Won’s Transformation as Agent Carter in the Netflix Movie
The 34-year-old actor surprised viewers with his unrecognizable transformation as he plays a skilled agent in Carter.
In a report cited by Korea Herald, Joo Won shared the preparations he did for his comeback movie which includes gaining 7kg and shaving his head which was the first time he did.
“I changed my appearance a lot. So after the shooting was over, it was especially hard for me to get out of the character,” he revealed.
Apart from it, he spent four months of intense training and monitoring his diet in preparation for his challenging role.
In addition, Joo Won described Carter as a “new kind of action film” and hoped that through the Netflix movie, they could “spread Korean action films to the world.”
Carter follows the story of a top-tier agent who woke up one day without any recollection of his past, including his identity.
His mission is to rescue the daughter of the scientist who has the only cure for the virus.
