Joo Won showed a jaw-dropping transformation in newly released photos of the upcoming Netflix original film, Carter.

Earlier this year, the streaming giant — as reported by Naver — tapped Joo Won to lead the action-espionage film, Carter. The South Korean actor secured the role of a highly-skilled secret agent, Carter, who wakes up one day without any memory. He ends up in an operation that challenges him as he tries to solve the mystery behind the things that happened to him.

Before the premiere, Netflix dropped new photos of the film featuring Joo Won and his transformation.

Joo Won Looks Unrecognizable in Carter Teaser Photos

Months after confirming his appearance, the actor showed his ripped physique through the new teaser photos.

The King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo actor reportedly gained seven kilograms of muscle weight for the role. He also disclosed going through three to four months of intensive training to perform his stunts and action scenes smoothly.

He was also trained in car chases and driving motorcycles as part of his character’s job as a secret agent.

His fans saw the fruit of his labor in Carter’s teaser photos, in which he is seen covered with blood while it highlights his buffed body.

Carter will be a great addition to his experience, as he famously became part of different series in the past years. He famously starred in Ojakgyo Family, Fatal Intuition, Good Doctor, Bridal Mas, My Sassy Girl, and Yong-Pal.

His most recent project, Alice, was released a year after he completed his 21 months of military service.

Joo Won Earns Praises From Carter Director

Ahead of the original film’s premiere, the movie’s director showered him with praises for his notable role.

“[Joo Won] is quick when it comes to understanding action. Out of all the male actors I’ve seen, he’s the best at action scenes. He was born with beautiful visuals and lines [of the body],” director Jung Byung Gil said.
