Joo Ji Hoon might score a new lead role following the success of his drama, Jirisan.

Joo Ji Hoon has been shining brighter than before after being part of countless dramas in different genres. Out of his past projects, he strengthened his empire through the hit romantic comedy Princess Hours, which garnered a 28.3 percent rating in South Korea alone.

As he is one of the actors who has been offering massive contributions to the Korean Wave globally, the actor remains in demand he recently received another offer.

Joo Ji Hoon Considers New Lead Role in Dominant Species

NewsEn reported this week that Joo Ji Hoon might lead a new drama after the success of Jirisan last year.

A representative from his agency, H& Entertainment, said that the actor is in talks to lead Dominant Species, a new sci-fi drama penned by writer Lee Soo Yeon. The screenwriter famously gave birth to several hit dramas, including Forest of Secrets (Stranger) and Grid.

“Joo Ji Hoon has received a casting offer for ‘Dominant Species’ [literal translation] and is currently reviewing it,” the representative said.

Dominant Species is about a world of viruses and genes. The foods on the aforesaid planet can be consumed through a pill.

If the actor accepts the offer, it will serve as his first leading role this year and his first drama since Jirisan ended.

Joo Ji Hoon Comments on Jirisan Co-Stars

Before starting a new drama, Joo Ji Hoon expressed how grateful he was to become part of Jirisan.

In the drama, he played the role of rookie park ranger Kang Hyun Jo. It also attracted positive responses as it was filmed in Jirisan National Park, making the drama more aesthetically pleasing.

“Each actor has a different way of creating a character. When I decide to do a project, I tend to go speak to the writers and the directors often. I create the character in the process of meeting them and talking to them. I did the same for Kingdom. I think I met with Ms. Kim Eun-hee to the point where she became annoyed with me,” he said.

If Joo Ji Hoon accepts the recent offer, he will surely meet another set of award-winning stars.
