Jonathan Majors had just started turning heads with Lovecraft Country, and word had come out that he would be playing Kang the Conqueror for the MCU back in September. While Majors is expected to take center stage in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, word has it that he'll actually be making his debut in another MCU property.
According to The Post-Credit Podcast, Majors' Kang will make his first appearance in the MCU in Disney+'s Loki series. We don't really know to what capacity Kang will be on the show, but seeing that time travel is essential to the nature of the character, it would make sense that he would be connected somehow to the Time Variance Authority—maybe as a prisoner or maybe even as an agent.
In the comics, Kang had used his knowledge of the future to help conquer the past, and he had been a main enemy of the Fantastic Four. With Ant-Man introducing time-travel to the MCU though, it would make sense for Kang to be Scott Lang's next villain. Let's just hope that they don't kill him off because Kang is considered to be one of the bigger villains of the Marvel Universe alongside Doctor Doom and Norman Osborn.
Hopefully, Majors does very well in the role. We know that Marvel has a history of forgettable villains, but besides Thanos, their takes on villains like the Vulture and Klaue have actually been a bit impressive. Let's just hope this pattern continues for Phase 4.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to come out sometime in 2022. Loki debuts on Disney+ sometime next year.
