There's undoubtedly a huge amount of fans who have been following the Star Wars franchise for years. Especially with all the upcoming films, series, novels, and the like.

One of the most anticipated projects in the bunch is Jon Favreau's upcoming series The Mandalorian, which is said to be released in November. And among the film genres that Favreau would want to do in the future, it certainly isn't what the fans would expect from him.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight at the 45th Annual Saturn Awards, it looks like Favreau has his eyes set on making a Holiday Special under Disney+.

The first of this genre was The Star Wars Holiday Special released back in 1978. A "cult classic" according to ET.

The Holiday Special revolves around the story of Chewbacca and Han Solo's way of spending a "Life Day" on the Wookiee planet called Kashyyyk. It features some musical performances of the different characters. Unfortunately, it was actually just broadcasted once.

Favreau talks about how he would love to do a Holiday Special and even urging the fans to let Disney+ know if they actually would like to see one.

The director and producer stated that he loved the introduction of Boba Fett as the aforementioned character was established in the said TV film. Favreau mentioned that he loved Fett's rifle and how the "animated piece still holds up." Revealing that he "draws inspiration from that."

Favreau also admired Cara Dune's character played by Gina Carano, who happens to have made her debut in The Mandalorian. Favreau mentions how she is incredibly fun to watch on-screen. And that when she is in action mode, she is a wonderful athlete. Making her character feel authentic and real as she has done a lot of training.

It would certainly be a treat to have another Holiday Special. If this is going to be in the works, hopefully, this time it would actually be broadcasted for millions of fans to see.

The Mandalorian comes to Disney+ this November.
