Amber Heard’s Psychologist Claims Actress Suffered From PTSD

This week, clinical and forensic psychologist Dawn Hughes testified in court and said that Amber Heard suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of intimate partner violence from Johnny Depp. Additionally, the latter reportedly suffered from obsessive control and obsessive jealousy while he was still with the Aquaman star.

Hughes also revealed that she diagnosed Heard with PTSD after undergoing four separate tests.

“Those tests allow me to make a definitive diagnosis that she suffers from PTSD. There's significant support for the fact that there was intimate partner violence in this relationship,” she said (via Abs-Cbn).

Johnny Depp’s Doctor Claimed Amber Heard Didn’t Suffer From PTSD

However, Hughes’ accounts contradicted those of a doctor who stood as a witness for Depp. Shannon Curry told the court that Heard did not suffer from PTSD. Instead, she believes that the actress could be suffering from a borderline personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder.

Hughes also claimed that Depp was physically and verbally abusive towards Heard.

“He pushed her, he shoved her, he slapped her with the front of his hand and the back of his hand. He choked her, slammed her into the wall, pushed her, and she fell down. He kicked her in the back,” she said.

However, Depp has vehemently denied the allegations. In fact, the Edward Scissorhands actor insisted that it was the other way around. He accused Heard of physically, verbally, and emotionally abusing him.

Amber Heard’s Request To Toss Johnny Depp’s Defamation Lawsuit Denied

On Tuesday, a judge also tossed Heard’s lawyers’ request to toss the defamation lawsuit after claiming that the actor failed to prove that he was defamed in Heard’s op-ed piece.

Depp’s lawyer asked the court to toss the request and insisted that Heard is the real abuser in the case.

By the looks of it, the back and forth between Depp and Heard wouldn’t end anytime soon. After all, both camps have been sharing their accounts of what really happened when they were still together.

Johnny Depp Vowed Never To Work With Disney Again

According to Variety, Depp lost $22.5 in earnings after Disney decided to replace him in the sixth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The company made the decision after Heard published her op-ed piece and accused Depp of domestic violence.

Jack Whigham, Depp’s rep at Creative Artists Agency, testified in court by saying that Heard’s op-ed piece had a catastrophic impact on the actor’s career.

“It was a first-person account coming from the victim. It became a death-knell catastrophic thing for Mr. Depp in the Hollywood community,” Whigham said.

Depp has not appeared in any movie since Heard’s op-ed piece was published. In fact, the actor even had to give up some of his compensation to finance Minamata so that the project could push through.

Following the controversy, Depp reportedly vowed to never work with Disney. During his cross-examination, Heard’s attorney, Ben Rottenborn, asked the actor an important question.

“The fact is, Mr. Depp if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?” Rottenborn said.

“That is true, Mr. Rottenborn,” Depp replied.

The actor also said that Heard destroyed his reputation. So, regardless if he wins his defamation case or not, he would have to carry this burden for the rest of his life.

“I would be a real simpleton to not think that there was an effect on my career based on Ms. Heard’s words, whether they mentioned my name or not. Once that happened, I lost then. No matter the outcome of this trial, I’ll carry that for the rest of my days. I’m suing her over defamation and the various falsities that she used to bring my life to an end,” Depp said (via Lad Bible).
