At this point, we can't really be shocked by anything that Johnny Depp does. However, the Fantastic Beasts 3 star's latest venture sounds completely crazy. It has been revealed that Depp will be producing an alien musical about Michael Jackson's iconic glove.
Does that sound bizarre? Just wait because it gets even more interesting. The Guardian reports that the musical will tell Jackson's story from the glove's point of view. Penned by playwright Julien Nitzberg, the musical titled For the Love of a Glove: An Unauthorised Musical Fable About the Life of Michael Jackson, As Told By His Glove offers a strange explanation for those child abuse allegations against the musician.
So what is the premise of the new musical? Interestingly, it alleges that Jackson is not guilty of abusing any children. Instead, it depicts the glove as an alien that needs to feed on virgin boy blood. (I swear I'm not making any of these up).
Interestingly, Nitzberg revealed that the stage play was supposed to be made into a TV series but producers didn't agree with the whole vampire alien twist. This is why he decided to work with Depp's production company Infinitum Nihil to come up with the musical.
For now, it is unclear if Depp himself will be involved in the project considering that he has a busy year ahead of him. In addition to working on the third Fantastic Beasts movie, he's also set to face ex-wife Amber Heard in court. With a schedule that sounds as crazy as that, an alien vampire glove must seem like the norm for Depp.
