John Krasinski Still Hopes to Star in Fantastic Four Reboot Despite Emily Blunt's Disinterest

A lot of comic book film fans have been clamoring for A Quiet Place stars and real-life couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt to become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years now and if you've been a longtime follower of the billion-dollar franchise, you're well aware that the pair have come real close to joining the MCU in the past but circumstances have prevented them from doing so.

It's no secret that the entire Marvel fandom has long been convinced that John and Emily would be the perfect casting choices to play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. However, Blunt shocked everyone when she recently confessed that she's not really into the idea of joining a superhero franchise like the MCU.

Despite his wife's apparent lack of interest, Krasinski recently opened up about the potential casting, and surprisingly enough, it looks like he's still 100% down to do the part. In an interview with Uproxx, The Office star said: "I actually felt stupid. I wanted to email Kevin Feige and be like, ‘Sorry, man. I wasn't trying to like put pressure on you. You're the man.'"

He added: "I think I felt, it's like I was trying to sometimes over calculate how much I've talked about certain things. And then you get older and you just go, 'I don't know, I'm going to be honest.' And my honest answer was like, 'Hell yeah. I'd play Mr. Fantastic.' And then people were like, 'Oh my God.' And I didn't know it would be headlines."

It's clear that Krasinski has not lost hope in joining the Marvel universe but at the end of the day, we all know that it's still Kevin Feige who has the final say about all things MCU. We still have no clue as to when Fantastic Four drops but it's safe to assume that Marvel Studios is already laying the groundwork for the reboot. I have complete faith in their casting directors but I'm still hopeful that Krasinski and Blunt will end up getting cast in the film. It's just one of those things that should happen.

Other details about the MCU's Fantastic Four are still being kept under wraps.
