John Boyega Explains How A Star Wars Poster Ruined His Date

Star Wars actor John Boyega is charming and talented so it's easy to assume that finding a romantic partner would be easy for him; however, the 25-year-old actor's involvement in the Star Wars series can be held against him. Boyega recently recounted the time he spotted a poster for The Force Awakens during a date, and it turned off her potential lover.

"It was bad. It was the Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster with the lightsaber, and [I said], 'That's what I do.' And she was kind of like, 'Yeah, that's not the life for me,'" Boyega told the Fitzy and Wippa show. "A lot of women don't want that. They don't want the loudness. It's too loud. And I respect her for that. I liked that."

While Boyega might be struggling to find love in the real world, his character has no issues finding romantic prospects. In The Last Jedi, Rose even expressed her intentions by kissing him.

Many fans online also depicted Finn and Poe as lovers in several artworks and fan fiction.

"I've seen pictures of me and my boy, [Poe actor] Oscar Isaac, butt naked, in showers and stuff," Boyega told Variety last year. "We don't personally do that, but I'm open and free to anyone having their expression of art. This is all art at the end of the day, isn't it? It's nice."

Boyega will reprise his role as Finn in Star Wars: Episode IX, which is set to release in theaters on December 20, 2019.
