Star Wars: Harrison Ford 'Didn't Give A Rat's Ass' About Passing The Torch

Harrison Ford's exit from the Star Wars franchise was a sad one since it resulted in the death of a beloved character in Han Solo. While the character's past will be explored in May's Solo: A Star Wars Story, some fans feel that Ford will forever be the man associated with the character.

This is why some fans might be shocked that Ford "didn't give a rat's ass" about passing the torch down to someone else. Allow us to elaborate.

During an interview with New York Times about John Boyega's skyrocketing career, Ford was asked about passing down the torch to the Force Awakens and Last Jedi actor. His answer was quite surprising.

"I don't know that I thought of it that way at all. I was there to die. And I didn't really give a rat's ass who got my sword."

Keep in mind that Ford wanted Han Solo to die since Empire Strikes Back. That obviously didn't happen since Return of the Jedi revealed he was alive, with 2015's The Force Awakens finally giving Ford the closure he wanted. That's not to say he phoned in his performance in Force Awakens since he was clearly enjoying himself but it's good to know that the actor got to go out the way he wanted.

Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out on May 25.
