Joey Batey Says The Witcher Season 3 Will Introduce Jaskier's Love Interest

It will still be a long wait for The Witcher Season 3 but Joey Batey is clearly excited about the show's next season. The star of The Witcher: Blood Origin is hyping up the third season, revealing that Jaskier will finally get a love interest in the Netflix series.

Joey Batey was first introduced in the first season of The Witcher and he later returned as Jaskier in Season 2. Interestingly, the bard also had a small yet important role in The Witcher: Blood Origin but Batey insists that the third season of the main series will be the best one yet.

Batey recently spoke to Gamesradar and he declared that the upcoming episodes of The Witcher Season 3 are the best ones in the show so far.

"For me when I first read the scripts, they were the best scripts that I think we've done so far," he said. "There are some things from the books that I think fans are going to really, really enjoy. And some really lovely key moments that are very epic."

Interestingly, there's another reason why Joey Batey is excited about The Witcher Season 3. He revealed that his character becomes something of a ladies man in the third season.

"Jaskier also gets a little bit of a love interest – maybe more than one," Batey said.

This is an interesting update considering that Jaskier has spent most of his time following Geralt of Rivia or hating on Yennefer of Vengenberg. For now, the details about Jaskier's love interest have not yet been revealed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

You can watch Jaskier in action in The Witcher: Blood Origin, which is now streaming on Netflix. The Witcher Season 3, which will be the last one featuring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere in Summer 2023.
