Joaquin Phoenix's upcoming Joker movie has everyone's interest piqued since it's going to be a DC movie unrelated to the previous DCEU installments. The fact that we'll have two versions of the character in cinema - Phoenix's version and Jared Leto's - says a lot about DC's flexibility with their characters. We haven't seen any official images of Phoenix as Joker but a recent one might be teasing his smile for the character.
During the Deauville American Film Festival, an image of Phoenix smiling was taken (via Batman-News) and has got the internet talking. Fans might be overreacting in regards to Phoenix's smile but it is kind of fun seeing fans react to this. Plus, imagine all of the photoshops that will be done with this image.
Phoenix has already lost some weight to look more like the Batman villain and it will be fun to see what he looks like when he has all of the makeup put on. Since this will be a serious gangster movie, the makeup might not be too exaggerated as fans like but it should look better than what Jared Leto tried to do in Suicide Squad. Gross.
The Joker is going to hit theaters on October 4, 2019.
