One of the biggest discussions in the Star Wars fandom is definitely ‘Reylo' and a lot of people are curious about how the pairing will be handled in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Director J.J. Abrams weighs in on the two characters and says that they're connected in a very unique sort of way.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Abrams' comments that Rey and Kylo Ren are ‘two sides of the same coin.' He says, "even when they're not together they still haunt each other in a way — they know they are each other's unresolved business."
With Rey supposedly severing her connection with Kylo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it's going to be interesting to see how the two will clash once again in The Rise of Skywalker. The two are no doubt the avatars for their side of the Force, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top, granted that this film is set to end the story of a total of nine films.
With all the Dark and the Light clashes, I think we're finally going to see "balance" in the Force by the end of the movie–meaning that neither will destroy the other, but will find a way to co-exist in peace. If anything, this is just a theory. I'm completely up for anything that nobody will be able to predict.
For now, everyone waits for the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Dec. 20.
