It certainly has been an eventful year for the cast and crew of Star Wars: Episode IX. However, it has finally come to an end. J.J. Abrams has just confirmed that the highly anticipated film has finished filming and he celebrated the milestone with a truly emotional photo.
Abrams shared the picture on his official Twitter account and made sure it came with an awesome caption. Take a look at the tweet below.
"It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I'm forever indebted to you all," the director wrote.
There is little doubt that the cast is feeling truly emotional about the wrap. After all, they have worked together since Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Needless to say, it could be a major change for everyone to go back to their old lives.
Not surprisingly, Abrams' photo has been analyzed by fans. There are speculations about everything from Daisy Ridley's hairdo, John Boyega's distant gaze, and Oscar Isaac's emotional expression. In addition to that, people are wondering what planet Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron are actually on when the picture was taken.
There is another reason why fans are delighted with the end of principal photography. It could also mean that the Episode IX title could finally be revealed in the next few days. Let's keep our fingers crossed on the possibility that we will get an official announcement about the upcoming Star Wars film soon.
Star Wars: Episode IX is still scheduled for release on December 20.
