J.J. Abram Reveals Kylo Ren’s Status In Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) might seem like a villain in the stories, however, the estranged son of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia (the late Carrie Fisher) is just as much a lead character as Rey (Daisy Ridley) and everyone's hoping to see the character find redemption in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Episode IX director J.J. Abrams just recently spoke with The New Yorker to help add a few details to Driver's most recent profile, and during the interview, the filmmaker decided to give a few updates on Kylo Ren's state in the final sequel trilogy entry.

The last time that Star Wars fans got to see the character, Kylo Ren cut down Snoke, eventually becoming the Supreme Leader of the First Order. While he's come into great power, it seems like Kylo Ren is going to be wanting when he appears in Episode IX.

"Kylo Ren feels like he hasn't arrived. Even as he becomes Supreme Leader, he is wanting. It's like anyone you know who thinks that, when he arrives where he's going, he will feel fulfilled. For Kylo, the hole only gets bigger," Abrams told the publication.

Everyone's eager to see what becomes of Kylo Ren in The Rise of Skywalker. The Dark Side user found himself connected to Rey (Daisy Ridley) in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and at some point, everyone was hoping that Kylo Ren would turn to the light. In the end, Kylo Ren decided to spiral into the Darkness. Still, fans are looking forward to seeing the character's redemption in Episode IX.
