Jin Goo, A Superior Day star, experienced a rise in popularity soon after appearing in the hit series, Descendants of the Sun.

The actor immediately challenged himself in the TV industry when he agreed to play the role of the younger version of the character played by Lee Byung Hun in the drama All In. Since then, he expanded his career and appeared in more flicks following the establishment of Lee Byung Hun’s agency, BH Entertainment.

Jin Goo continuously added more titles under his belt, starring in several movies and films, including A Bittersweet Life, Love Me Not, The ESP Couple, Moby Dick, C’est Si Bon, One Line, Spotlight, Untouchable, and Legal High.

Although he has more than 20 credits, Jin Goo fell in love more with his A Superior Day character.

Jin Goo Wanted His Role in A Superior Day

Ahead of A Superior Day premiere, Jin Goo appeared in an interview where he reflected on his role in the thriller drama.

Jin Goo plays the role of a firefighter named Lee Ho Chul. In the series, he only has 24 hours to rescue his daughter, who is unfortunately kidnapped.

According to the actor, his character is a strong person who is brave and strong enough to put his life in danger to save his loved ones. Because of that, he fell in love with his character even more.

“It had been a long time since I’d played a character who’s desperate, and I wanted to completely lose myself in [that despair] while acting,” he said.

He noted that playing the role of a selfless character became an inspiring experience for him. In the end, he reportedly learned a lot of things.

How Jin Goo Prepared for The New Project

Elsewhere in the interview, the actor shared his careful planning to enhance his acting skills before the filming for the drama began. Per Jin Goo, the 24 hours story in the series was a long period in real-life. This caused him to keep the same energy until he completed the filming.

“I really wanted to pay close attention to each and every change in my character’s emotions, so I drew detailed diagrams that only I can understand on my script. From the shape of my mouth to my gaze and the tips of my toes, I wanted to show a very calculated acting performance,” he went on.

Jin Goo then shared what fans should expect in the series, teasing them that they would be able to know what it means to be superior once they watch the drama.

Fans can finally discover what he talked about as A Superior Day will premiere on March 13.
