Anime’s popularity has no doubt risen over the last couple of years. Because of this, lots of popular brands have begun releasing anime-themed collabs. The latest is Jimmy Choo, which recently unveiled a new Sailor Moon shoe lineup.
This new collection was revealed via Jimmy Choo in Japan. It features five shoes with eye-popping colors based on the main characters of the iconic magical girl franchise.
The upcoming collab is releasing this month, just in time for the upcoming Sailor Moon Cosmos two-part anime film, which premieres in the middle of this year.
Jimmy Choo and Other Anime Luxury Collabs
Jimmy Choo is not the first luxury fashion brand to collaborate with popular anime and manga works.
For instance, the Italian fashion house Gucci teamed up with magazine Spur and Hirohiko Araki for a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure collab.
The first collab happened way back in 2011 and featured a collab comic starring Rohan Kishibe of Part 4.
This was followed by another collaboration, this time featuring Jolyne Cujoh of Part 6 along with characters from Part 5.
More recently, Spanish fashion brand Loewe released a Howl’s Moving Castle collaboration featuring luxury bags and accessories based on Miyazaki’s 2005 hit.
This isn’t the first Loewe and Ghibli collab though, as two earlier collections were released back in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Now, it’s time for the renowned luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo to collab with a renowned anime, this time with the iconic Sailor Moon series.

This new Jimmy Choo collab is headlined by five shoes, each of which is patterned after the shoes of an iconic Sailor.
For instance, there’s a pair of pink knee-high boots based on Sailor Moon’s footwear of choice.
There are also blue platform ankle boots for Sailor Mercury, red pumps for Sailor Mars, golden dress shoes for Sailor Venus, and green combat boots for Sailor Jupiter.
Along with these shoes, the collection also has a handbag that features panels that are straight out of the manga.
It was also revealed upon the announcement that Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi is a big fan of the brand.
She mentioned that Jimmy Choo is the perfect fit for the series’ “young and fresh sensibility.”
The latest Jimmy Choo collab will be released in Japan on February 14, 2023.
There’s no word yet on whether the collection will also be released internationally.
