Jim Carrey in Talks to Play Dr. Seuss in Biopic

Author Ted Geisel a.k.a. Dr. Seuss is probably one of the most relevant children's writers to this day, and his books have been read by generations of people from all over the world. Naturally, Hollywood would want to make a biopic that tells his story, and look who they've decided to play the part.

According to The Illuminerdi, Jim Carrey is currently in talks to play the lead part of Geisel in the movie Seuss. A director is yet to be attached for the part, but the script from Eyal Podell and Jonathan Stewart is said to be one of Hollywood's top unproduced scripts.

If you ask me, Carrey is kind of perfect for the part. Carrey himself was a figure for young audiences in the 90s, and he's recently been playing some more mature, thoughtful roles. It would be amazing if he could bring that same kind of character to an author that was beloved by children. Not to mention he's starred in several Seuss-based projects like How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Horton Hears a Who.

We don't know when this movie is going to come out yet, but I would very much love to see Carrey in the lead role. Besides him somewhat coming back to form as the cartoonish villain of Sonic the Hedgehog, you can also catch him in the second season of Kidding on Showtime. The show is set to debut on Feb. 9.

As for movies, Carrey comes back to the big screen when Sonic the Hedgehog hits theaters Feb. 14.
